I tried every diet on the planet. My favourites were the especially gruesome ones that had me on a whopping 500 calories or less per day. And I didn’t even lose weight!!

Can we just be fkn real, please? Diets are bullsh^t! And here’s why…

• Slowed metabolism⁠
When your body doesn’t receive enough calories, it will slow down your metabolism to conserve energy. This will make it even harder to lose weight in the long term because your body becomes more efficient at conserving calories and that’s a bullsh^t way to live.

• Fatigue and Weakness⁠
Not consuming enough calories will make you tired, weak, and have low energy levels. Apart from affecting your daily grind, ability to exercise and overall quality of life, it will make junk food an even more tempting option for a quick energy fix.⁠ And that’s bullsh^t.

• Bone Health⁠
Chronic calorie restriction can lead to a reduction in bone density and increase the risk of osteoporosis. Don’t do it, sis. It ain’t worth it.⁠ It’s a totally bullsh^t way to live.

I know what it’s like to want to be thin so badly you’d give up your firstborn to get there, but as someone who’s come out the other side of a severely dysfunctional relationship with food, having a strong, healthy body will always trump being skinny #nocompetition 💪🏼⁠ And that’s no bullsh^t.
