My Day On a Plate - What, When & How Much I Eat

Hey, girl!…

Want to know what a day on my plate looks like? Here’s a sneak peek…

5.30am

Yes, I’m one of “those” people who like to get up long before the rest of the world. I find I need the time and space in the morning to get my head in the game before the business of the day kicks in.

6am

I’m big on organic, cold-pressed juice and if I’m not juicing my own, I’ll often reach for a locally juiced brand that has a fridge life of around 3 days. If I’m making my own I’ll juice 5 or 6 carrots, 1 Granny Smith apple along with a small thumb of ginger and some lemon juice before I head off to get my “zen on” with some gentle yoga and meditation before breakfast.

8am

Breakfast time is my favourite time of day! I’m transitioning from sweet foods to a more satisfying savoury vibe which currently looks like GF toast with a home-made pesto or smashed avo, cherry tomatoes, basil and a plant-based cheese or hummus.

2pm

Depending on how much running around I’m doing, I’ll often keep lunch nice and light. Today it was shredded veg with fresh avocado, baby greens and some tofu fried in coconut oil. I’ll often include a few handfuls of raw nuts or roasted nuts or vegetable sticks with nut butter, mainly because nuts have all those delicious, healthy oils that are sooo good for you (plus, for so many years we were told that “fat makes you fat” so I deprived myself of nuts, but now that we know that was never true, nuts make a daily appearance in my diet). After lunch, it’s back to the office to work on the Ditch the Diet Podcast, 1:1 clients or my latest online course (so much fun!)

4pm

When I was lost in dieting Boogie Wonderland, the mid-afternoon sugar cravings were the hardest thing to beat. These days things are a little bit different for me. Since breaking up with emotional eating, I generally take some time every afternoon to stretch, enjoy a cup of green tea and enjoy a smoothie or bliss ball. Today is was strawberry and banana smoothies for myself and the man. Which one do you think was mine? Comment below!

7pm

Dinner time is always fast and fresh. Something you may not know about me is that I’m not a one-dish kinda gal. I like to make a few small dishes and snack my way through dinner time. If I still feel like a little something sweet after dinner (and let’s face it, who doesn’t?) I indulge in a cup of green tea with some dark chocolate with dried fruit and nuts… yum!
