It’s time to looooove yourself AND your body
This week is Body Image and Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
As women, it’s so important for us to take a stand and let society and our children know that we are comfortable in our own skin, regardless of the messages we are sent from magazines and television.
There is NOTHING WRONG with you.
Your body is NOT a problem to be solved.
In honour of Body Image and Eating Disorders Awareness Week I will be starting a weekly Facebook segment called “Fresh Start Friday”.
As you know, I’m all about ditching the diet.
Because the last 30 years of my life were ONE LOOONG DIET DRAMA of hating myself.
I hated the way my body looked.
I hated the way my face looked.
But most of all, I hated myself for not being strong enough to stick to a diet!
So in honour of ditching the diet I am committing to giving myself and others a Fresh Start, by fostering acceptance for our personal and unique beauty.
Each Friday I will post my commitment on my Facebook Page to what action I will take to help make body shaming a distant memory in our society AND I invite YOU to join me!
On Fresh Start Friday’s I’d love you to post YOUR commitment either here on the Blog or on my Facebook page as to how you will give yourself a Fresh Start by loving yourself and your body.
Send in your photos.
Tweet it out!
Let’s show our children that it’s okay to love themselves EXACTLY AS THEY ARE because WE LOVE OURSELVES EXACTLY AS WE ARE.
So, to launch the first episode of Fresh Start Friday and in support of Body Image and Eating Disorders Awareness Week, I’ll be posting my first ever selfie with NO MAKEUP and I’m asking you to do the same.
Go ahead and post your own gorgeous makeup-free selfie on my Facebook page. Let’s band together to eliminate negative body image.
Do it for yourself AS WELL AS the next generation of children who so desperately need to be told their bodies are a tool for enjoying life, not an object to be envied.
Do it to set yourself free from the torment of trying to appear like you “have it all together”.
This is REAL LIFE, so let’s just GET REAL.
I love you and remember, any day is a good day to Ditch the Diet, Live Healthy and Eat Real Food.
Here’s to Ditching the Diet!
