Do you struggle with The Voice in your head?
You know the one, it’s the voice that tells you you’re no good, you’ll never lose weight, you’re too fat, stupid (fill in the blank) to ever reach your goals? The voice that tells you that you’ll be overweight for ever so you might as well eat the entire tray of donuts now and save yourself the misery?
Well, bust out your best happy dance, baby! I have a special treat, just for you!
In honour of International Women’s Day and how busy we all are, I’ve decided to give you a super quick audio post this week so you can listen on the run (well, you don’t actually have to be running, but you get the picture) đ

The Voice in your head is the sneaky little weasel that tells you eighty five reasons why eating an entire tub of choc marshmallow ice cream right before dinner is a fabulous idea!
It tells you that today is the day you will blitz your weight loss for sure, but by 2pm, that very same voice has convinced you that stuffing your face with 6 Krispy Kremes, 4 snickers bars and some questionable chinese food you found in the back of the fridge is waaaaay better than sticking to your healthy eating plan??!!
Seriously, what gives??
If you’ve ever wanted to know how to overcome the self sabotauge and beat the voice in your head at it’s own game, then THIS is for YOU!

Thank you for this audio, it was very useful. At times it gets hard to recognize what is going on in our lives and what is pushing us towards bad choices. Since I’m not having the greatest of all weeks, this content came at a perfect time to remind me not to give in to the voice! So, thank you Kylie, you’re the best! xox
-Francesca-
Hi Francesca!
You are so welcome, beautiful!
And yes, The Voice can be so sneaky, we should definitely use all the tools we can find to recognise it! đ
xx
Thank you!!!
Kylie, you have helped me so much. Thank you for your work
Hops,Nasrallah knows your weakness. You don’t know either your weaknesses or your enemies. How could you? An Apartheid narcissist can’t see past his own perfect nose.
Love you!
This audio was on point. I struggle with “the voice” on almost a daily basis as an emotional eater myself.
It’s gotten worse over the past year now but your tips were very helpful. I do tell myself to stop and think about how bad I will feel after eating junk food and usually that does help.
Lori
Hi Lori!
Yes, The Voice is so super sneaky, that sometimes it’s hard to catch it before we’re already elbow deep in cookie crumbs and wondering where we went wrong?!
Well done for taking control, lovely! xx đ
Eating smart with the daily walking sondus good:The natural âdietâ: Eat, drink, and be merryEat smart â well-balanced meals, cut out any unnecessary calories (snacking just because), eat when you are hungry (grumbling stomach, hunger pains) and only eat until you are satisfied (not a bite more), 5-6 smaller meals is better than 3 larger ones. Also, stop eating 2-3 hours before bed â you should be slightly hungry at bed timeDrink plenty of water, not only to stay hydrated, but its important for weight loss, including helping the muscles tone and suppressing hungry. (Tip â the lighter your urine the more hydrated you are.)Be merry â in other words exercise, not only is it needed for weight loss, it releases chemicals in your brain and makes you more happy (some of it is addicting which is known to a lot as ârunnerâs highâ). 30 minutes of cardio is recommended daily, and a good work out program uses cardio and weight training (even if itâs just toning â light weights, more reps). Do something you enjoy and it will be easier to stick it out.
Hi Franciele!
Absolutely! It really sounds like you have found what works for you. đ
It’s so important to make Ditching the Diet work with your lifestyle and it sounds as though you have managed to do that.
Well done, lovely!
Deadly accurate answer. You’ve hit the bullseye!
Hi lovely!
I’m so glad you liked it! And yes, The Voice is probably our greatest challenge when it comes to beating emotional eating and yo-yo dieting. The quicker we learn to deal with The Voice, the sooner we can kick those weight loss goals, baby!
xx đ
Oh yes! This rang so true! My voice tells me after a trying day that “I deserve it”…that pizza, chocolate, ice cream or whatever. I often heartily agree at the time…it’s time to talk back and take control! Thank you Kylie
Absolutely, Coralee! That sneaky little voice has ruled the roost for waaaaay too long! It’s definitely time to take our power back đ xx
Kylie this really resonated with me. Thank you
This voice torments me, consumes my energy and leaves me unfocused – I feel like the only way to stop it is to actually listen to it so I can move on and continue through the day. Unfortunately even after it still won’t let me continue – its like another voice starts to mock me and tell me how weak I am. I start to wonder why the second voice didn’t come to my rescue when I needed it to (before binging) !!
Oh Joy… it’s all part of it’s evil plan …haha!!! No, just kidding. đ
But it is a very tough thing to overcome. We deal with this at length in Ditch the Diet Online Bootcamp because you’re absolutely right, it is one of our greatest battles. Just know that you DO have the power and with love, time and patience, you can absolutely win the battle.

That’s the perfect insight in a thread like this.

The exprteise shines through. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
Glad it helped, Lissa!
When you think about it, that’s got to be the right answer.
Hey June!
I’m so glad you agree! The Voice is one of our biggest challenges when it comes to taking control of our eating âșïž

I’d veunrte that this article has saved me more time than any other.
This is both street smart and intelligent.
Hi Gemma!
You’re absolutely right. Cluing in the the tricks The Voice tries to play on us is one of the key factors to our long term success in beating emotional eating.

So I was at the supermarket listening to The Voice saying “you are hungry, you must eat a red velvet cupcake! Come on! You have never tried one before, I bet they are great!” Aaaaand I got your mail, started listening, and realized it’s not me! I REALLY want to do this right, I am not letting The Voice sabotage me again! So instead of the red velvet cupcacke I had some almonds and felt awesome, I walked home with my chin held high and the conviction that I CAN really do this. I bet this feels way better than the cupcacke.
Ahhhh!!! Rosario, you’re my new hero!!!
Well done for standing up to The Voice and yes, knowing that you made a decision you feel good about and that feels good in your body is WAAAAAY better than the fleeting flavour of a red velvet cupcake!
I’m so proud of you! Mwah!
K x
Love!
Glad I’ve finally found something I agree with!
That’s so great, Heather!
I’m pleased you found it helpful!

Brilliant!
It positively helpful and it has helped me out loads. Good job.
Normally I’m against killing but this article slaughtered my ignorance.
Hi Kylie, Such a great audio. I hear the voice throughout the day myself. Usually in the morning and early afternoon I am so busy I can ignore it but around 5pm it gets louder and I hear “just eat something bad and take the pressure off being good for the rest of the night, then you can relax, have a wine and eat what you want”….ARGGGHHHHH I need to silence it. Thank you for your tips and I have recently signed up for Bootcamp and cannot wait. XO
Hi Caroline!
That’s so great! You will absolutely Lâ€ïžVE the Bootcamp. The Voice is one of the things on our hit list over the six weeks lol!
Can’t wait to see you there!
Kx
Hi Kylie,
Thanks for this audio, it really rang true for me. It’s funny how it’s such a supportive voice when it’s convincing you to eat crap, but then such a monstrous and critical one when you do!
How do I sign up for boot camp? I’ve already signed on to the mailing list but couldn’t find a specific link for bootcamp!
Thanks đ xx
Hi Mel!
Hahaa! You’re so right! The Voice is your new BFF before you eat the ice cream, but after? It’s a nasty little sucker! We’ve just finished our first round of the Bootcamp for this year. There’s another one coming up very soon (I’ll make sure you know via email) but in the mean time, you can find out all about it here https://kyliepax.com/bootcamp/
I can’t wait to see you in the Bootcamp! It will rock your chocolate coated world!
Have a great day, lovely!

This was SO needed today. Thank you! Somehow I ended up in the candy aisle at Costco and The Voice had a lot to say!!!! I even gave myself a pep talk before going in, I wrote my grocery list out and told myself not to go anywhere near that section of the store. But yup, I ended up there. I stood there, longingly staring at all the crap I wanted to eat and having a silent argument with The Voice. It worked đ I left without buying any candy and went home and had a healthy snack.
But Kylie, PLEASE tell me it gets easier?!! Did you find The Voice became quieter with time?
Also, I’m very happy that I didn’t give in but also still a little sad that I didn’t get my sweet fix (full well knowing that being heAlthy is better).
Hi Stef!
Wow! You did SUCH a great job resisting the Voice!!
I’d like to tell you The Voice goes away forever but sadly, nope I think the good news is that even though it doesn’t get quieter, you get better at detecting it and seeing it for the liar that it is so in that way, it definitely gets easier over time xx
K â€ïž
Wham bam thank you, ma’am, my qusotiens are answered!
Thanks for sharing. you have changed my relationship with food and I am SO grateful xx
Love you!!
Hi Kylie,
I am so glad I came across your website and started getting information via email. I just listened to the audio about The Voice and I am speechless . I have a voice and it’s awful. I set myself up constantly for failure and it’s getting harder and harder the older I get. I need to stop self sabotaging myself. But I need help in learning how to do that. Thank you for your knowledge and willingness to help others.
Hi Melissa!
You are so welcome and you can be sure that we ALL battle with this. I’m so glad you found this post helpful
xx
Wow! this is the first time that you identified “the voice” as something that was was not of me! That was empowering in itself…..also, the fact to tune into my feelings and ACT! Thank you this was amazing information!!! I will be listening to this audio again to really absorb the information. YOU ARE WONDERFUL!!!
Hi Maria!
You are SUCH a gem! Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m so glad the recording helped you!
